The next big game in the Gears of War series is coming in 2019. At its E3 keynote today, Microsoft officially unveiled Gears 5 the first new game in the shooter series since 2016. The game lead role is Kait Diaz. Who made her debut in Gears 4 and was playable in multiplayer mode. It is develop by The Coalition, the Vancouver-based studio that’s been charge with the franchise since 2014. It also represents a slight change in branding for the series, dropping the “of war” from the full title.

The story details are very slim right now. The game will feature both split-screen and online co-op play. And Microsoft is really boosting up the visuals for the game. It description is as “the biggest, most beautiful Gears world ever created.” It will support for 4K Ultra HD resolution, HDR, and will run at 60 frames per second. Like all first-party Xbox games, Gears 5 will be available on both the Xbox One and Windows 10 when it does release next year.
